Fleet Electrification

Enterprise Fleet Management collaborates with commercial and government entities by consulting them on the acquisition and resale of their fleets; and providing programs on maintenance, fuel, and telematics. Alicia keeps her clients up to date on industry trends and uses fleet data to make fleet recommendations and plans for her clients’ fleets allowing them to do more with their budgets.

As organizations develop green initiatives and vehicle manufacturers, prioritize EV production; electric vehicles and how to incorporate them in your fleet is a constant fleet topic. Alicia will review the key areas that fleets should assess before pivoting to EV’s:

  • What can be Electrified
  • Overview on Charging Types
  • Cost and Operational Considerations when managing EV’s.

 Speaker:

Alicia Brissett is a George Mason University graduate who has worked for Enterprise Holdings for the last 6 years. As a Client Strategy Manager for Enterprise’s Fleet Management Division, she manages over 2500 vehicles and 35+ clients in the DC, Maryland, and Virginia area. She works with clients in various industries such as Construction, HVAC, Engineering, Non-Profit, Government Contracting, Universities/Colleges, and Municipalities.

Sustainable IAQ Design: Strategies to improve IAQ, and reduce building energy use and construction costs

COVID is over – where are we now?  Campuses have the unenviable job of figuring out how to respond to the growing demand for better indoor air quality (IAQ), which has been accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic, while at the same time responding to expanding mandates to electrify and decarbonize buildings to address the climate crisis.

This education session will introduce a “Clean First” framework to achieve Sustainable IAQ: better indoor air quality more energy efficiently with improved resilience to outside air pollutants.  The solution focuses on setting specific IAQ goals and cleaning the indoor air first, prior to using outside / increased ventilation. By cleaning the air in buildings, indoor air can be safely recirculated. This allows outside air requirements to be reduced by up to 85% using ASHRAE’s Indoor Air Quality Procedure (IAQP). Deploying sorbent ventilation technology with ASHRAE’s IAQP can also deliver annual HVAC energy savings of up to 40%. The reduction of required outside air reduces the load on the HVAC system, which enables the downsizing of new HVAC systems and saves energy, reduces carbon emissions, and extends equipment life.

In a University of Miami case study, the National Renewable Energy Lab (NREL) validated and confirmed the following energy savings from the Clean First sorbent technology implementation:

  • 36% average reduction in total HVAC energy consumption
  • 41% peak HVAC capacity reduction
  • 75% average reduction in outside air
  • Over $30,000/year in energy cost savings
  • Better indoor comfort: Relative humidity decreased 10% and air temperature reduced 2.5 0 C
  • Improved air quality: Reduced TVOCs to 780 µg/m 3 , formaldehyde to 29 µg/m 3, CO2 to 753 ppm, and reduced particulate matter from the neighboring highway.

Learning Objectives

  1. How has the post COVID-19 ASHRAE guidance changed?
  2. What are the steps to in integrated IAQ solution?
  3. What is Sorbent Ventilation Technology and how does it work?
  4. How to establish an IAQ monitoring plan.
  5. Gain understanding of the impact that IAQ strategies have on energy consumption, cost and carbon emissions.

Speakers:

Ted Vergis, has been with enVerid for 7 years as the ‘Vice President of North America Sales’. Prior to enVerid, he spent over a decade in renewable energy at notable organizations such as TESLA (6 years) deploying over $1BN in energy projects. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Cal Poly- San Luis Obispo and resides in Austin, Texas.

Mr. Dorman brings 17 years of experience in engineering design support, and innovative heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC) equipment design.  Starting as a K-12 HVAC owner’s consultant in the Baltimore market in 2005 for Trane, Tim fully understands the needs of the learning environment. Since joining Havtech in 2011, Tim has provided equipment consulting for engineering firms on new construction and major renovation designs across the Washington DC/Baltimore region. Within Havtech, Mr. Dorman has been recognized for his leadership, and received multiple awards for Sales, Influence and Innovative Solutions.
