Supervisor’s Toolkit has been specifically designed to meet the needs of the facilities management professional.  It is a structured, open-ended, and pragmatic approach to developing supervisors.  It is not so much a teaching program as a development process, designed to help supervisors realize both personal and professional growth. The program has been newly designed as a full three days of training.

Starting Wednesday morning, June 11, 2025, at 8:00 am the program kicks off and runs through Friday, June 13, 2025 at 12:00 pm.

The tool kit registration fee for this program includes all meals during the program and lodging for two nights.

Our instructor is Amy Carnahan has been a part of APPA for 15 years, contributing to a variety of roles.

She began her journey as a graduate of Supervisor’s Toolkit in 2010 and the APPA Leadership Institute in 2012. Since then, Amy has served on several committees within MAPPA, including the Educational Committee and was the editor of the MAPPA Newsletter. In 2013, she was honored with the APPA Presidential Award for her work in launching the APPA Emerging Professionals Program.

Over the years, she has taught the Supervisor’s Toolkit for multiple regions and conferences and was recently appointed the Dean of the Supervisor’s Toolkit.

Currently, Amy is the Director of Alumni Events at the Michigan State University Alumni Office. In this role, she oversees major events such as the Homecoming Parade, Spartan Reunion and the Kedzie Reunion. She also assists with Sparty and hosts alumni trips in Europe.

Having been a part of the Michigan State University community since 2006 with roles in Culinary, Facilities, Guest Services and the Alumni Office, Amy is deeply connected to the institution. She resides in the country with her husband, Casey, their 12-year-old twins, Caedyn and Cooper and their dog Tillie.
